Time for a gruesome night at the theatre...

So yeah, I decided to finally release Theatre Night, which is maybe the first game I ever truly finished designing, way way back in 2016, when games like A NOCTURNE were but a wee twinkle in my eye. Originally designed over a summer as a sort of off-kilter college project, I had a lot of fun putting it together and playtesting it with some of my home group. In fact, my notes of our actual play essentially form the example text provided in the rulebook.

Theatre Night is basically my take on Primetime Adventures by way of the Duchess of Malfi, aiming for stories of murder and mayhem, with an emphasis on imagining, in a kind of meta way, the whole thing as a stage play. My tutor whom I submitted the project to passed me, but admitted later on that he thought I'd over-thought the whole thing. I humbly submit that that's the whole damn point, although if any of my other games are anything to go by he was extremely correct, even prescient.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this little artifact of a baby designer, and play out your own little evening of treachery and horror against a shaky painted backdrop in a dusty playhouse. Oh, and don't mention the Scottish play.
